Summer passed so quickly. Winter fell hard and still you loved me. I would shiver and without a thought you'd pull off your Dickie jacket and wrap it around me. "You'll be cold without this" I'd only whisper looking up at you as you let out a smile "I'm never cold around you." you said pulling me close

Almost two years flew by and it simply felt like only moments. Slowly your joy was no longer towards me, just video games. I'd sit there for hours just watching you with a smile stuck on my face. You'd glance to me every so often then back to your game, still my smile was there. "Would you like me better if I played video games?" I spoke softly tilting my head to the side, my long hair slowly fell over my right eye. You made a face, never taking your eyes off your game of 'Halo' and just gave me a soft "Meh" When I left your house that night I got right on eBay buying myself an XBOX and games.
-
More time came and went. When you held me anymore it felt more like I was just a trophy. You choose overtime at your job over me in a second but still I was there when you came home, meal cooked and quirky happiness even after the long wait but you never did smile towards me anymore. You'd jump on Xbox Live and I'd just start drawing. Hours later you'd look over to me surprised "I didn't even know you were still here" I looked up biting my lip and forced a smile "I'm sorry I'll leave" I left a drawing of me and you on your bed. Wet smudges covered the paper.
-
After four years you finally let me go but not before ripping my hearts to shreds at the Panic at the Disco concert. Time passed slowly, My hair dyed the blackest I could find and my eyes were as empty as I was. Yet I was surviving, finishing high school with first honors and I even published my own book of poetry. It was filled with pages upon pages about you. The title was your Xbox Live name, Lost Nomad.
-
I opened a text message one warm night while I was sitting on my step, It was your number and it only read 'On my way. I hope you still live in the same house' and my breathing just stopped. I closed the phone and I just waited. After a while staring at the floor I looked up and you were feet away. All I did was smile but baby I hope you couldn't tell I was crying on the inside.
-
"Hey" we both spoke at the same time and suddenly it felt like when we first met. Silence came over us and slowly we spoke some words, just catching up. After some time you sat beside me. Suddenly just looking at me "Tiff I really came here to say thank you. you always kept up with me back then even when I tried to run. You'd smile towards me even when my words were filled with venom, you loved me and took my hard hits to your ego like it was nothing...I'm.." I suddenly stopped you, putting a finger over your lips and I smiled bright. Do you know at that moment it was the first time in a long while it didn't feel forced. I knew you were going say sorry but I didn't need to hear it.
-
"You came all this way to just say that..." My voice caught in my throat and I held all my tears in my eyes "I think I should thank you" and you just shook you head, standing up and putting your hands in your pocket "Don't ever change" I nodded quickly like a child standing up and tilting my head to the side with "If you promise to always return, to just sit with me and talk then I promise to never change" "I promise" you pulled me into your arms and then you turned walking down my street. That was the first promise you ever kept to me

It's nobody's business what's in my cup, what's in your cup, what's in their cup. It's your cup, drink it. Fuck you, and whatever was in my cup, I'm going to keep drinking it. Suck my dick, and my cup. - Lil Wayne
